Pip begins the novel as a young orphan boy growing up in the marsh country of kent, England. HE is raised by his sister, Mrs. Joe and brother in law, loe Gargery. Much later, Pip is taken by his Uncle Pumblechook to entertain the eccebtic and wealthy miss Havisham has peculiar ways and still wears her wedding grown from when she was left at the altar. While he's there he meets the beatiful and mysterious Estella who treats him with disdain.
