Ottoman Empire, Balkans, Greek Land : Toward a Social and Economic History

This paper focuses on presenting the official data given by the local Ottoman administrationon the size of its (male) population, its composition and the representation of its demographic elements - Muslim and non-Muslim - in the main administrative bodies, that is to say in the administrative council of its seat (meclis-i idare-i vilayet) and those of the administrative subdivisions, sub-provinces (sancaklar/evliye) and districts (kazaha).
